Aunque Matt no ha dejado oficialmente el dúo, 'Evolve' será el primer lanzamiento desde 2012 en el que no aparece.
El EP trata esencialmente de la sensación de validación de las redes sociales y el miedo a ser quien realmente eres; a las personas que tratan de hacerte de menos; de cómo nunca puedes saber lo que alguien está realmente sintiendo a menos que te pongas en su lugar; y tratando de dejar a un lado las noticias constantes, las noticias falsas y el "ruido" del mundo cuando todo es abrumador.
También cuenta con un tributo a Aran de We Are Knuckle Dragger que por desgracia se suicidó en 2018.

Although Matt hasn’t officially left the duo, ‘Evolve’ will be the first release since 2012 that does not feature him on bass.
The EP is essentially about social media validation and fearing being who you really are; people who try to get you down; how you can never know what someone is truly feeling unless you’re in their shoes; and trying to put the constant news, fake news and ‘noise’ of the world aside when it all gets too much.
It also features a tribute to Aran from We Are Knuckle Dragger who unfortunately took his own life in 2018.
