Postcards is the result of a distance collaboration with my friend Jonathan Deasy.

As a sort of game between us I sent several double bass improvisations exploring new techniques and timbres I was developing at that time, and Jonathan sampled and manipulated them with the software he was working on. There where no real predetermined intentions or ideas behind the process, just kids bouncing a ball in a sunny afternoon, making up the game as they go.

The name Postcards is tied to this gamelike nature of the music and the obvious geographical distance between the irish coast and the catalan beaches.

Postcards es el resultado de una colaboración a distancia con mi amigo Jonathan Deasy.

A modo de juego entre nosotros envié a Jonathan varias improvisaciones con el contrabajo, dónde exploraba algunas nuevas técnicas y timbres que estaba desarrollando en ese momento, y él lo sampleó y manipuló con el software en el que estaba trabajando. No había ninguna intención previa ni ideas concretas más allá de dicho proceso, simplemente un par de críos pasándose una pelota en una tarde de verano, inventando el juego sobre la marcha.

El nombre Postcards está relacionado con la naturaleza lúdica de esta música y la obvia distancia geográfica entre la costa irlandesa y las playas catalanas.
